La Marina Alta

With an extension of 759 km2 and 188,500 inhabitants distributed in 33 municipalities, Denia being the capital.

80% of the population is concentrated in the coastal towns of Denia, Javea, Calpe, Moraira, Benisa, Ondara and Gata de Gorgos, occupying only 25% of the territory. This implies large areas with very little population and the rest of populations with few inhabitants and completely different ways of life.

The high marina is bordered by the mountains of Bernia to the south, Vall de Gallinera to the north, closing to the west El caball vert, Coll de Rates and Serrella and to the east we can find steep coasts, Les Rotes, El Montgo, El cabo de San Antonio, Cabo de la Nao or the Peñon de Ifcah or large sand plains such as Les Marines.

Crossed by the Bullent, Racons, Girona and Gorgos rivers, they create the valleys of Laguar, Ebo, Alcalá and Gallinera as well as the Marjar Pego-Oliva.

This region offers us very diverse leisure possibilities, from fishing and hunting to visits to historical places, caves, lagoons, valleys and mountains, nature reserves, coasts, hiking and mountain biking routes, etc...
